Biography: Clark S. Metzger, MD, is a board certified Orthopedic Surgeoncaring for patients in Pensacola, FL. Dr. Clark S. Metzger received his undergraduate education at Louisiana State University from 1977 to 1980, and was admitted to the University of Tennessee center for the Health Sciences without an undergraduate degree to pursue his MD and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1985. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at the University of South Alabama in 1990. He then completed a one year fellowship in spine surgery at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Lurate received his undergraduate degree in Engineering from Mississippi State University and his medical degree from University of Mississippi School of Medicine. He then went on to complete his internship and residency at Louisiana State University. Dr. Lurate is a United States veteran. He was in the U.S. Navy Reserves assigned to the U.S. Naval Hospital Marine Reserve Center in Shreveport, Louisiana from October 1988 to June 1993. He also served on the United Nations Protection Force during Operation Provide Promise in Zagreb, Croatia. He has earned several Military Awards including the National Defense Medal. Dr. Lurate diagnoses and treats ailments affecting muscles, bones and joints, treating sports injuries, degenerative diseases and infections. He performs joint repair and replacement operations specializing in minimally invasive knee and hip replacements. He also has a special interest in minimally invasive spine fusion and disc replacement procedures.
