Biography: Dr. Cassandra Simmons is the Chief of General Obstetrics & Gynecology at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center (CUIMC). In this role, Dr. Simmons directs clinical operations for the division of General Ob/Gyn, with the goal to deliver the highest quality of care to patients. Before joining the faculty at CUIMC, Dr. Simmons practiced as an Ob/Gyn in many states across the country, including California, Georgia, New Jersey, and the New York Metropolitan Area. Biography: Dr. Jacob Lauer is an Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center in the Division of Gynecological Specialty Surgery. He also holds administrative titles as the Director of the Gynecology Patient Safety and Quality Program in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and the Director of Operations in the Division of Gynecologic Specialty Surgery. Dr. Lauer earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicineand went on to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Oklahoma. After his residency, Dr. Lauer was a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin before completing his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at Columbia University Irving Medical Center. This fellowship experience provided Dr. Lauer with specialized training and expertise in complex gynecologic surgery, laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and robotic surgery. Dr. Lauer also earned a Master's of Public Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Currently, Dr. Lauer is working towards an Executive Master's of Business Administration at Columbia Business School. Biography: Leigh Rosen, MD, is a gynecological surgeon at RMA of New York. Dr. Rosen specializes in minimally invasive surgery and the laparoscopic, robotic, and hysteropic management of endometriosis, fibroids, ovarian cysts, polyps, uterine anomalies, and chronic pelvic pain. Dr. Rosen has distinguished herself as a clinician and researcher. Biography: Dr. Advincula is a leader in minimally invasive surgical techniques and one of the world's most experienced gynecologic robotic surgeons. He has published and taught extensively in the area of minimally invasive surgery as well as developed surgical instruments in use worldwide. Dr. Advincula has extensive experience in treating complex and challenging cases of endometriosis, uterine fibroids, and pelvic masses. He is a board-certified obstetrician-gynecologist and a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. After graduating with honors from Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Dr. Advincula completed both an OB/GYN residency and a minimally invasive surgery fellowship at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Afterward, he spent 10 years at the University of Michigan where he rose to the rank of Professor and Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Division and Fellowship as well as Endometriosis Center prior to joining Florida Hospital Celebration Health in late 2009 as Director of the Center for Specialized Gynecology. While in Florida, Dr. Advincula served as the Director of the Celebration Health Endometriosis Center and the AAGL/SRS Fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery. He was also Medical Director of Gynecologic Robotics at Florida Hospital as well as Professor of Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine. Additionally, Dr. Advincula was promoted to Education Institute Director for the Nicholson Center, an advanced medical and surgical simulation training facility. Since 2014, Dr. Advincula has held the position of Levine Family Professor, Vice-Chair of Women's Health & Chief of Gynecology at the Sloane Hospital for Women, NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, bringing more than 15 years of clinical expertise, innovation, and leadership. In addition to his departmental responsibilities, Dr. Advincula is the Medical Director of the Simulation Center for NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center. He served as President of the AAGL, an 8000-member organization promoting minimally invasive surgery worldwide, from 2014 to 2016.

Dr. Kim graduated from Yale University and earned her medical degree from New York University. Following her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at New York University, she completed an AAGL-accredited fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery and Chronic Pelvic Pain at the University of Michigan, also earning her Masters in Clinical Research Design and Statistical Analysis. The fellowship provided Dr. Kim with specialized training and expertise in the field of advanced laparoscopy and robotics. Dr. Kim favors a minimally invasive approach to the care of her patients, understanding that this approach leads to faster recovery, less pain, shorter length of hospital stay, improved cosmesis, and greater patient satisfaction. In addition to providing routine gynecologic care, Dr. Kim specializes in gynecologic endoscopy, including robotic surgery, advanced laparoscopy, hysteroscopy, and in the treatment of women with chronic pelvic pain, endometriosis, uterine fibroids, abnormal uterine bleeding and vulvar pain.
