Biography: Dr. Denny is a board-certified psychiatrist in both general and child/adolescent psychiatry, and is a certified provider of electroconvulsive therapy (ECT). He graduated valedictorian of Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh before earning his Doctor of Medicine at Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta, GA. His internship and residency was served at the University of Arizona, Maricopa Medical Center in Phoenix. Dr. Denny also completed a fellowship in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at the Children's Hospital of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. Dr. Denny gained a love for psychiatry after serving rotations during medical school and realizing that he enjoyed spending time talking and listening to patients. Psychiatry allows him to fulfill his love for science and provides him with the high level of human interaction he desires. Patients who suffer with bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, and severe depression and have not seen a positive response from medications can see Dr. Denny for ECT. ECT is an effective medical treatment option, which helps as many as 90 percent of patients who receive it. Dr. Denny is the only provider of ECT in east Idaho. Dr. Denny works hard to see his patients smile and enjoys helping them overcome their difficulties. ``It is very rewarding when a family comes to my office and says they have their family member back, whether it's a son, daughter, spouse or parent,`` says Dr. Denny. When Dr. Denny is out of the office, he finds relaxation by riding horses and spending time with his family.
