Care Philosophy: I have the privilege of caring for patients with life-threatening diseases who are often overwhelmed and dealing with the uncertainty of their prognosis, treatment options, and outcomes. In this context, I see my role as being their advocate, making sure I take the time to help them understand their options and provide them with the same care I would expect for myself or a close family member. I strive to build a relationship with my patients based on trust, honesty and compassion. For me, the essence of being a physician is the ability to make a difference and having the honor of working with patients who allow me to be a part of their cancer journey. I also get to lead an incredible team that is passionate about caring for transplant and cell therapy patients.I have had the fortune of learning from the diversity of our patients: where they come from, the uniqueness of their life circumstances and their ability to overcome challenges. I have learned to approach each patient with humility and compassion and deeply appreciate the challenges they and their loved ones go through as they navigate cancer treatment and recovery.

A cancer diagnosis isn't easy on anyone and I try to make the treatment process as seamless as possible. I work with a comprehensive team, including social workers, case managers and patient navigators, who provide outstanding care for our patients and families. My team and I strive to be as accessible as possible. I spend significant time with my patients and their families. We discuss the available treatments, including the standards of care and clinical trials. I want them to feel comfortable with their treatment options and all facets of care. I'm passionate about helping my patients achieve cures. In more than 20 years in this field, I've seen hematology and oncology evolve tremendously. We're able to cure the majority of the patients we treat. I love to see my patients growI even receive invitations to their weddings more than 20 years after treating them. My patients truly inspire me.
