Biography: Andrew T. Lenis, MD MS, is an Assistant Professor of Urology at CUIMC. He specializes in treating patients with bladder, kidney, prostate, testis, and penile cancers. Dr. Lenis graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in Cleveland, Ohio, with a dual MD MS degree and Honors Distinction in Research. He then completed his surgical internship and urology residency at UCLA in Los Angeles, California. After residency, Dr. Lenis completed a fellowship in Urologic Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. Dr. Lenis joined CUIMC as a surgeon-scientist with an interest and specialization in urothelial cancer (tumors of the bladder, ureter, and renal pelvis). In the laboratory, Dr. Lenis works and collaborates with Michael Shen, Ph.D., who is an expert in bladder and prostate developmental and molecular biology and a pioneer in bladder tumor organoids. The American Urological Association, the American Cancer Society, and the American Society for Clinical Oncology have funded Dr. Lenis' research. His work on urologic malignancies has been published in JAMA, the Journal of Urology, European Urology, the Journal of Clinical Oncology Precision Oncology, and Urologic Oncology. When not seeing patients or in the laboratory, Dr. Lenis enjoys spending time with his wife and two sons. They enjoy the outdoors and traveling.

Biography: Christopher B. Anderson, MD, Associate Professor of Urology at CUMC, joined the Department of Urology in September 2015. He specializes in cancers of the bladder, prostate, kidney, testis and penis and performs both open and robotic surgeries. Dr. Anderson completed his medical degree from Northwestern University, completed his urology residency at Vanderbilt University, and then spent two years at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as a fellow in urologic oncology. Following his residency, Dr. Anderson completed a urologic oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and obtained a Master of Public Health degree from Harvard University. Dr. Anderson's research interests include factors that influence the quality of surgery, access to care for patients with bladder cancer, outcomes after robotic prostatectomy, and active surveillance strategies for men with prostate cancer. Dr. Anderson has published several peer-reviewed articles and was recognized as "Best Reviewer" in 2014 by The Journal of Urology and in 2016 by Cancer. Dr. Anderson has clinical expertise in robotic prostatectomy for the treatment of prostate cancer, radical cystectomy with orthotopic neobladder for patients with bladder cancer, and partial nephrectomy for the treatment of kidney tumors. He also specializes in the multidisciplinary management of men with testicular cancer, including the use of primary and post-chemotherapy retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. He is currently the site leader for several clinical trials investigating the use of immunotherapy in patients with invasive and non-invasive bladder cancer.

Care Philosophy: Urologic oncology is a multidisciplinary field that incorporates innovative surgical technology, systemic treatments such as chemotherapy as well as a focused research effort. As a Professor of Urology and the Clinical Director of Urologic Oncology I continually interact with colleagues in areas of medical oncology, radiation oncology, pathology among others in order to provide the most comprehensive and innovative care for our patients with prostate, bladder, kidney and testicular cancer. I also conduct research on characterizing the relationship of the microbiome and complications in patients with kidney disease and kidney transplant recipients. My work is currently funded by an NIH K23 career development award, an NIH R21 exploratory/development award, and a National Kidney Foundation Young Investigator Research Grant. Biography: Dr. Barbara Chubak is an Associate Professor in the Department of Urology at Weill Cornell Medicine and an Attending urologist at New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. In addition to providing general urologic care, she specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of sexual dysfunction for all patients, regardless of sex, gender, orientation, or congenital condition. She is particularly committed to addressing the sexual health needs of women and other populations who have been historically marginalized and underserved, while also attending to the voiding dysfunctions and pain syndromes with which they are frequently comorbid. Dr. Chubak received her medical degree from Johns Hopkins, while also earning a master's degree in the history of medicine. Her residency training at Montefiore Medical Center Albert Einstein College of Medicine was bracketed by fellowships in bioethics and sexual medicine at the Cleveland Clinic.
