Biography: Fred Kusumoto, M.D., is an electrophysiologist and the Director of the Heart Rhythm Services Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. His clinical practice focuses on heart rhythm disorders including atrial fibrillation, atrial flutter, bradycardia, and ventricular arrhythmias and the treatments for these disorders including ablation, pacemakers, and defibrillators. Dr. Kusumoto's research interests include evaluation of quality of life and healthcare outcomes with electrophysiology procedures, particularly in the elderly and use of implantable cardiac devices. Dr. Kusumoto is actively involved in the teaching of residents and fellows and has received several awards for teaching excellence including the Excellence in Training in the Discipline of Cardiovascular Diseases two years in a row at Mayo Clinic. Dr. Kusumoto has served as the Chair for the 2018 AHA/ACC/HRS Bradycardia Guidelines, 2017 AHA/ACC/HRS Ventricular Arrhythmias Guideline Evidence Review Committee, 2017 HRS Cardiovascular Implantable Electronic Device Lead Management and Extraction Consensus Statement, and the 2014 HRS/ACC/AHA ICD Therapy in Patients who are not included or well represented in the Clinical Trials Consensus Statement. In addition to his clinical and research practices he has written five books on cardiac pathophysiology and cardiac devices and has authored over 100 peer reviewed journal articles including the New England Journal of Medicine and the Journal of the American Medical Association, and is the president of the Florida Chapter of the American College of Cardiology as well as the 2nd vice-president of the Heart Rhythm Society.

Yamamura, MD is Board Certified in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology, Cardiovascular Disease and Internal Medicine, and received his medical degree from the University of Miami in 1993. Dr. Yamamura completed a Residency in Internal Medicine at University of Miami/Jacksonville in Miami, Florida, followed by a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and Electrophysiology at University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, Florida. Dr. Yamamura specializes in cardiology at Regional Medical Center Bayonet, HCA Florida Oak Hill Hospital, and is a practicing cardiology at West Coast Arrhythmia Center in Hudson and Trinity, Florida. Some of the conditions he treats include Arrhythmias (incl. Biography: Christopher J. McLeod, M.B., Ch.B., Ph.D., is the Clinical Director for Cardiovascular Medicine at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Dr. McLeod is Board-Certified in Adult Congenital Heart Disease as well as Cardiac Electrophysiology he uniquely straddles these disciplines to care for an ever-growing group of adult congenital heart disease survivors. His practice focuses on the management of complex heart rhythm disorders in adults. In addition to his clinical work he is very involved in research related to ventricular arrhythmias. Dr. McLeod is also the past Director of the Adult Congenital Arrhythmia Clinic at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN and serves on the writing committee for multiple Guidelines/Scientific Statements for the American Heart Association, Heart Rhythm Society, and the American College of Cardiology.
