Biography: Scott A. Seidel, M.D., F.A.C.S., R.V.T., is a native Texan who was born in Houston. After graduating from Texas A&M University, he earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas. He completed his general surgery residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, his vascular surgery fellowship at UT Southwestern Medical Center and his endovascular fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in 2001. Dr. Seidel has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 2006. Dr. Seidel is board-certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is also a Registered Vascular Technologist. His professional interests include all areas of vascular and endovascular surgery with a special interest in catheter-based minimally invasive interventions. He is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, Society for Vascular Ultrasound, Southern Association for Vascular Surgery, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. He completed medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio and his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Apple then served four years in the United States Navy where he served as a staff surgeon at the Naval Medical Center San Diego. During his time in the Navy he was deployed twice to the Persian Gulf in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. He completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, TX. He is an active member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, Alpha Omega Alpha, the Society for Vascular Ultrasound and Parkland Surgical Society. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He has received numerous teaching awards and published several papers in the field of vascular surgery. His special interests include the endovascular treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms, the treatment of varicose vein disease and catheter-based procedures for arterial disease. Prior to joining CTVS, Dr. Apple practiced with Jackson Surgical Associates in Jackson, TN.

Biography: Joe K. Wells, III, M.D., F.A.C.S. is a native Texan originally from Austin. He earned his medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas, where he also completed his residency in general surgery. He completed his fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. He has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 2000.Dr. Wells is board-certified in vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He currently serves as Surgery Department Chair at the Heart Hospital of Austin. Dr. Wells specializes in carotid and lower extremity revascularization as well as the minimally invasive treatment of thoracic and abdominal aortic aneurysms and dissections. He has previously served as a medical missionary to Guatemala.He is an active member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, the Society for Vascular Surgery, Parkland Surgical Society, Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society. He completed his general surgery residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and his fellowship in vascular surgery at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Dr. Politz has practiced with Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons since 1996. Dr. Politz is board-certified in general and vascular surgery by the American Board of Surgery and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Politz specializes in all aspects of open vascular surgery, particularly complex mesenteric revascularization and endovascular abdominal aortic aneurysm repair.
