Biography: Frederic Fred A. Rawlins, III, DO, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained pulmonologist in Salem, Virginia. Dr. Rawlins serves as faculty and assistant chair of Internal Medicine at Via College of Osteopathic Medicine Virginia Campus, educating the next generation of physicians.Dr. Rawlins obtained his undergraduate degree in chemistry from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia, and his Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine from Edward Via Virginia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Blacksburg. Dr. Witten earned his Doctor of Medicine from theMedical College of Virginia and completed his residency training at Universityof Maryland Hospital in Baltimore. He then went on to fulfill a fellowship inpulmonary disease with the Medical College of Virginia Veteran'sAdministration. Prior to his medical training, Dr. Witten earned a Bachelor ofScience in Math from Randolph-Macon College. Dr.Witten has more than 50 years of distinguished medical experience, treatingpatients at the LewisGale Clinic and LewisGale Physicians since 1977. He isboard certified in pulmonary disease by the American Board of Internal Medicineand is an active member of the American College of Chest Physicians and theRoanoke Valley Academy of Medicine. Biography: Nelson Greene, MD, is a pulmonary disease specialist in Salem, Virginia. Dr. Greene graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He also completed residencies at Eastern Virginia Medical School and the Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a fellowship at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Green has been practicing pulmonary medicine for 30 years and is board certified in Pulmonary Disease and Critical Care Medicine. Dr. Greene is the first physician in Virginia to commercially use a new robotic bronchoscope that provides continuous, direct vision throughout lung nodule biopsy procedures, which could enable earlier, more accurate diagnosis, and treatable lung cancer.
