Biography: Deepa Shah, MD is a board certified pediatrician, practicing since 2000. She graduated with distinction from NHL Medical College in India and completed multiple electives at different hospitals and served rural areas. She then completed her residency in pediatrics at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas. After working in a private clinic in Austin, she went on to work at Dell Children's Hospital as an urgent care provider in the emergency department for 22 years. Dr. Shah's love for kids developed early in her medical career while caring for children during her rotations. She thoroughly enjoyed bringing smiles to the kids she treated. As a mother of two, she believes a pediatrician plays an essential role in childhood development. She works hard to alleviate anxiety in families during stressful sicknesses. Through her extensive experiences with an array of diagnoses during her urgent care tenure, she understands the importance of parents' emotions in the healing process of their child. During her spare time, she enjoys hiking in national parks with her family, crocheting blankets and scarves, and painting landscapes. Dr. Shah speaks English, Hindi, Gujarati, and basic medical Spanish.
