Biography: Dr. Minnie John MD, FAAP is Assistant Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Weill Cornell Medical College and the Attending Pediatric Infectious Disease physician at New York Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital. Dr John is board certified in General Pediatrics and Pediatric Infectious Disease and over25 years of experience in pediatrics. She is a member of AAP and IDSA. Dr. John graduated from Christian Medical College, Vellore, India. She was always interested in Pediatrics and Infectious Disease. Shortly after finishing medical school, Dr. John got the opportunity to be a part of the landmark 076 AIDS clinical trial that showed how a single drug could change the face of global pediatric HIV. This work only reaffirmed her decision to pursue a career in Pediatric Infectious disease. She completed her residency from Bronx Lebanon Hospital of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University and a fellowship in Pediatric Infectious Disease from Mount Sinai School of Medicine. Dr. John enjoys working with children and following these children into adulthood. Her practice is based on compassionate high quality patient focused family centered care grounded in evidence-based medicine. Her passion lies in solving complicated medical conundrums. Her areas of expertise include congenital infections (especially congenital CMV and herpes infections), bone and joint infections, skin and soft tissue infections, pneumonia, fever of unknown origin, HIV, tuberculosis, travel medicine. Dr. John recently received an NIH grant to manage congenitally infected CMV newborns with NYP Brooklyn Methodist Hospital being designated as one of the Wadsworth Center Infectious Disease Specialty Care Center.

Biography: Dr. Steven Gelman is a practicing pediatrician and Medical Director of the NYPBMH Pediatric Outpatient Department. He has lived and worked in Park Slope for over 25 years. He sees patients from newborn up through age 21. His education includes college at Emory University, Hahnemann University Medical School and residency training at Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital in Cleveland Ohio creating a great framework for providing excellent care for children and their families.
