Biography: Dr. Haroon Patel is an accomplished pediatric surgeon and program administrator with Greater Houston Pediatric Surgery playing a vital role in the development and advancement of our practice. In addition to his extensive expertise as a pediatric surgeon, he holds a Master's in Healthcare Management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. He has a long history of developing successful multidisciplinary teams and child-centered programs focused on clinical quality improvement and providing exemplary patient care and outcomes.Before joining Greater Houston Pediatric Surgery, Dr. Patel Dr. Patel was the Medical Director of Pediatrix Surgeons of Houston. Dr. Patel also spent 17 years as a leader in the pediatric surgery program at Driscoll Children's Hospital. He served as Chief of Surgery, Surgical Director (PICU), and Trauma Medical Director. Dr. Patel is board-certified, holding his Board Certification from the American Board of Surgery in both Pediatric and General Surgery. He is also an active Member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.Dr. Patel completed his medical degree and undergraduate studies at Witwatersrand University, Johannesburg, South Africa. After moving to the United States, Dr. Patel completed his residency at Berkshire Medical Center, University of Massachusetts, and subsequently completed his pediatric surgery fellowship at The Floating Hospital for Children New England Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Biography: Dr. Sara Fallon was born and raised in Houston, Texas. After graduating from St. John's School, she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill as a Morehead-Cain scholar, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Chemistry and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors in History.Dr. Sara Fallon received her medical degree and completed her residency in General Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. During her residency, she spent two years performing clinical research at Texas Children's Hospital, focusing on quality improvement, patient-centered outcomes, and hospital-wide projects in appendicitis, gastrointestinal diseases, and spontaneous pneumothorax research.During that time, she received a Masters in Clinical Science (MS) at McGovern Medical School at The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth), focusing on advanced statistics and clinical trial design.After obtaining her MS, Dr. Fallon completed her pediatric surgery fellowship at Texas Children's Hospital (TCH) and a second fellowship in Pediatric critical care, also at TCH. Dr. Fallon is board-certified pediatric surgeon, receiving her board certifications from the American Board of Surgery in both general and pediatric surgery Dr. Fallon is a physician leader in our practice. Biography: Sohail Shah, M.D. is a board-certified Pediatric Surgeon with Greater Houston Pediatric Surgery. Dr. Shah has special interests in gastrointestinal surgery, neonatal surgery, congenital anomalies, and the correction of chest wall abnormalities (pectus excavatum and pectus carinatum). His practice includes minimally invasive thoracic and abdominal surgery for pediatric patients of all ages (neonates through adolescents). Dr. Shah also has a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration and serves as the Pediatric Surgery Medical Director for HCA Gulf Coast Division and Practice Medical Director for Greater Houston Pediatric Surgery.
