Care Philosophy: I joined HealthPartners in 2012 following a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University and an orthopedic residency at the University of Minnesota. My special interests include shoulder, knee, and hip arthroscopy. I enjoy basketball and was the Slam Dunk Champion at Princeton University in 2000 while an undergraduate. I live in St. Paul with my wife and seven children.

Care Philosophy: I am an orthopedic surgeon specializing in hip and knee replacement, as well as surgical fixation of bone fractures. I am committed to providing compassionate care to my patients based on sound medical knowledge, good clinical judgment and experience. I am a critical thinker who believes that the key to good patient outcomes and great satisfaction is effective communication and mutual trust between the patient and the physician. My ultimate goal from every encounter is shared decision making and a treatment plan that incorporates the patient's needs, preferences and beliefs.

Care Philosophy: As an orthopedic surgeon with fellowship training in sports medicine, I provide complete care of shoulder, hip and knee conditions. Over the past 20 years, I have cared for athletes at all levels high school, collegiate and professional. I have also spent many hours on the sidelines providing medical coverage. My favorite conditions to treat are hip arthritis using a minimally invasive direct anterior approach to hip replacement, ACL and meniscus injuries, arthritis of the knee and rotator cuff tears. My goal is to eliminate pain and restore function to allow my patients to live their lives to the fullest.
