During his residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, he was awarded commendation for research he conducted on those injuries sustained during Operation Enduring Freedom, which was published and presented at national meetings. Following residency, Dr. Lin served as an orthopaedic surgeon and Chief, Department of Surgery at Bayne-Jones Army Community Hospital, which served the active duty, dependent and retiree population in and around Fort Polk, Louisiana (home of the Joint Readiness Training Center).
