Biography: Chima D. Nwankwo M.D., also called "Dr. Chima" by patients, colleagues, and hospital staff, is a fellowship-trained and board-certified (ABOS) orthopedic trauma surgeon practicing in Park Slope, Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Nwankwo has expertise in the orthopedic management of patients with life and limb-threatening injuries from accidents, falls, or assaults. Dr. Nwankwo is an expert in pelvic and acetabular surgery, hip fracture surgery, complex long bone injuries, periarticular reconstruction around major joints in the upper and lower extremity, nonunion and malunion fracture repair, traumatic limb deformity correction, management of neglected fractures, treatment of bone infections (osteomyelitis), and acute and elective hip replacements. He is also at the cutting edge of using minimally invasive/percutaneous treatments for treating broken bones. Dr. Nwankwo is a member of the Orthopedic Trauma Association, AO Trauma, and the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons.
