Biography: Dr. Steven Ernest Nowotny, a board-certified family medicine specialist, completed the UCSF Physician Leadership Fellowship in 2016 and his residency at the University of North Texas-Corpus Christi Bay Area Medical Center in 2001. Dr. Nowotny earned his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey on a full scholarship. He also holds an M.S. in Neurobiology and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Texas at San Antonio, where he received the Dean's Award. His research was featured in the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society. Before joining us in 2024, Dr. Nowotny worked in private practice and served several hospices in Corpus Christi, TX. He led acute and post-acute care teams with Team Health in Corpus Christi, TX, from 2011 to 2023 and also managed Port Medical Centers for over a decade. Dedicated to older adults, he is passionate about gut health, nutrition, and autoimmune diseases, emphasizing patient-centered care. Dr. Nowotny chose medicine to make a difference by helping patients recover and maintain their health. Outside of work, he enjoys traveling, the outdoors, and time with his family.
