Biography: Steffanie Owens, MD, FACOG, is a board-certified and fellowship-trained gynecologic oncologist with Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, an affiliate of the Sarah Cannon Cancer Network at Henrico Doctors' Hospital. Dr. Owens received her medical degree from Florida State University College of Medicine. She completed her residency training in obstetrics and gynecology at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California, after which she served as an Ob/Gyn in the U.S. Navy for four additional years. Amongst her military awards she received the Navy Commendation Medal prior to relinquishing her commissioning as a Lieutenant Commander. Following her military service, she completed her Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship at University of California, Davis Medical Center.Dr. Owens is a Diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncology. As part of the team at Virginia Gynecologic Oncology, Dr. Owens provides expert care for women diagnosed with cancers of the cervix, ovaries, uterus, vagina, vulva, and endometrium. Dr Owens performs complex surgical procedures with a focus on minimally invasive procedures; she then optimizes perioperative outcomes with use of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) strategies. Dr Owens can continue the journey with chemotherapy, targeted, or hormonal therapies when needed. She partners in care during clinical trials and will be there if the focus shifts from cancer treatment to comfort care. Dr Owens strongly believes in utilization of a multidisciplinary team to optimize the patient's well-being during their care.Dr. Owens is passionate about Quality Improvement and the practice of Evidence Based Medicine. Biography: Alexis Vincelette, MSN, CNM, CNOR, is a certified nurse midwife and women's health nurse practitioner with Pratt Medical Group in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Ms. Vincelette earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. She also completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Castleton University in Castleton, Vermont.Ms. Vincelette is dedicated to providing safe and exceptional healthcare services to women across the lifespan including gynecologic health, prenatal, pregnancy, labor and delivery, and postpartum care. She is passionate about working with women and birth givers in the protection of their bodily autonomy through shared decision making, trauma-based care, and informed consent. She has over seven years of experience as an operating room scrub and circulating nurse specializing in high-risk cesarean sections with vascular intervention, vascular/endo-vascular, and trauma surgery. Ms. Vincelette is a Certified Perioperative Nurse (CNOR), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certified, and certified in neonatal resuscitation program (NRP). She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM).Outside of the practice, Ms. Vincelette enjoys spending time and hiking with her goldendoodle, Delta, reading, traveling to her family's house in Greece, and quilting.
