Biography: With his expertise in overall women's health, infertility, and prenatal care, board-certified OB/GYN Paul Hinshaw, DO, is a trusted expert for patients throughout Escondido, California. Dr. Hinshaw is currently accepting new patients at North County Women's Specialists. After Dr. Hinshaw earned his bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Michigan, he went on to complete his doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. He headed back to Michigan to finish his obstetrics and gynecology internship and residency at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital, where he served as chief resident. Dr. Hinshaw is board certified through the American Osteopathic Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. While Dr. Hinshaw is skilled in preventive care and treating chronic women's health issues, he has a special interest in hysteroscopy and minimally invasive surgical procedures including endometrial ablation, laparoscopy, and daVinci® robotic surgery.

Biography: Farina Islam, MD, is a board-eligible obstetrician and gynecologist serving the San Diego area at Damon Cobb OB/GYN in Poway, California. She speaks fluent English and Bengali, offering patients of all backgrounds personalized, comprehensive care. Dr. Islam aims to build a strong, trusting relationship with each of her patients to act as an educator and advocate during diagnosis and treatment. Her specialties include robotic surgery, prenatal care, abnormal bleeding, and contraception. Dr. Islam completed her medical education at Ross University School of Medicine. After completing medical school, she moved to Michigan for her OB/GYN residency at Providence Hospital/Michigan State University, CHM. Upon completion of her residency, she joined Michigan State University College of Human Medicine as faculty educator and clinical instructor to residents and medical students. In that role, she also served as a supervising physician to midwifery services. She has now transitioned to San Diego where she joins the team at Damon Cobb OB/GYN. At Damon Cobb OB/GYN, Dr. Islam strives to make each patient feel comfortable and welcome no matter what. She is in constant pursuit of the latest knowledge in her field, bringing current treatments and techniques to the clinic for her patients to benefit from. She is currently accepting new and returning patients.
