Nursing Nurse Practitioner near Webster, TX

Biography: Shawn Tippitt is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in women's health and joined Womens Specialists of Clear Lake in 2006. She grew up in the Clear Lake area and remains a resident in the greater Clear Lake area. She earned a Bachelor's of Science in Nursing from UTMB Galveston. After graduation she chose a career as a staff nurse in the labor and delivery unit at Clear Lake Regional Medical Center. After a couple of wonderful years of bedside nursing, she went on to earn a Master's of Nursing from the University of Phoenix. She then decided to continue her education and completed post graduate work to practice as a Nurse Practitioner at University of Texas Health Science Center where she was a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, Zeta Phi chapter. As a Nurse Practitioner, her warmth and passion have allowed her to deal equally with the teenager and the transitional female concerned about menopause. Being a former labor and delivery nurse she really enjoys working with her pregnant patients. Shawn believes in a collaborative approach to healthcare with the patient and her family at the center of that focus. She encourages healthy habits through good nutrition, exercise and relaxation and believes these can be an adjuvant to traditional therapies. Shawn practices with both Dr. Korman and Dr. Rivero seeing obstetric and well-woman gynecologic patients. Additionally, she is the primary point provider for their obstetric patients during their initial exam. She is also available for same-day urgent appointments. When Shawn is not in the office, she enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with her husband Shane and her three boys, Taylor, Cody and Tommy.
