Biography: Jennifer Rachel George, MD, is a board-certified General and Abdominal Transplant surgeon. Dr. George received her medical degree from St. George's University in 2013. She then completed training in General Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in El Paso, Texas in 2019. There she gained proficiency in a wide range of general surgical procedures as well as in the management of critically ill and injured patients. Her experience with organ donation and procurement during this time facilitated her decision to pursue abdominal organ transplantation.In 2021, Dr. George completed training in Abdominal Transplant Surgery at the Baylor University Medical Center, Annette C. and Harold C. Simmons Transplant Institute in Dallas, Texas. There she was involved in performing over 200 renal transplants, 120 liver transplants, 20 pancreas transplants, as well as several organ procurements and hepatopancreaticobiliary procedures over a 2-year period. Her time there further afforded the opportunity to care for medically complex and critically ill surgical patients.

Care Philosophy: I deliver the most advanced are possible in the field of general surgery. I am fellowship trained in advanced laparoscopic surgery and now offer advanced robotic surgery. I provide the most minimally invasive techniques to treat hernias, esophageal reflex, colon disease, gall bladder disease, and any solid organ problems. I also perform many operations of the thyroid and heart for both benign and malignant disease.

Care Philosophy: As a trained fellow in minimally invasive surgery and advanced laparoscopy at the University of Louisville, special emphasis has been placed in the surgical treatment of patients using minimally invasive techniques. The use of a laparoscope and operating through small incisions leads to a better outcome in regards to patient recovery, decreased pain and improved cosmesis.
