Biography: Matthew B. Stahlman, MD, FACC, FSCAI has practiced cardiology in Austin since 2006. He received a bachelor degree in Biology from the University of Texas in Austin with honors in 1992. Subsequently, he attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston where he graduated at the top of his class and received the honor of becoming a Member of Alpha Omega Alpha (medical honor society). After completing an internship in Surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville Tennessee, he then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at UT Southwestern (Parkland Hospital) in Dallas Texas. He provides patients with up-to-date and evidence based cardiac care, including minimally invasive treatment options. After growing up on a shrimp boat in Southeast Texas, he went on to graduate from the University of Texas at Austin. He then pursued a career in medicine by completing medical school at the University of Texas Medical School at Houston. Thereafter, he completed clinical training and board certification in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease, and Interventional Cardiology. He is also board certified in Echocardiography. Dr. Nguyen is proficient in echocardiogram, coronary angioplasty, atherectomy, invasive hemodynamics, and coronary imaging. Dr. Nguyen then underwent dedicated training in Structural Heart Disease at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
