He received his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis and completed residency training at Indiana University Medical Center in Indianapolis.

He completed a Residency and Chief Residency in Internal Medicine at Danbury Hospital/Yale University School of Medicine, as well as a Fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation.
