Dr. Neff graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville with dual degrees in Biochemistry, Cellular and Molecular Biology, and History before attending medical school at East Tennessee State University. He then completed an internship and residency in Internal Medicine at Emory University and a fellowship in Gastroenterology at Tulane University and continues to grow his clinical expertise in these fields. Dr. Neff applies his understanding of the digestive system and his scientific knowledge to diagnosis and treat illnesses in adults.

He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. He then completed his three-year fellowship in Gastroenterology and Hepatology at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. In 2018, Dr. Spiceland was selected as an American College of Gastroenterology (ACG) Young Physician Leadership Scholar and currently serves on the national ACG Patient Care Committee.
