Biography: Adebayo A. Adesomo, MD is a maternal-fetal medicine physician with Maternal Fetal Consultants of Houston specializing in caring for women with high-risk pregnancies. Dr. Adesomo has a special interest in preterm birth prevention, prenatal ultrasound, and management of complicated pregnancies including twin pregnancies, placenta accreta spectrum, and maternal medical conditions such as hypertension and diabetes. Providing care to families experiencing complex pregnancies is deeply rewarding for Dr. Adesomo and the reason he decided to become a maternal fetal medicine specialist. Additionally, Dr. Adesomo sees each pregnancy as a window of opportunity to begin to optimize future maternal health. Dr. Adesomo graduated from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory High School before his undergraduate studies at Columbia University. He attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center before completing his Obstetrics and Gynecology training at The Ohio State University. Dr. Adesomo completed his training in maternal fetal medicine at the University of Utah where he also earned a Master's degree in the Science of Clinical Investigation (MSCI). Through his training and education, Dr. Adesomo can evaluate the latest medical literature and aims to individualize patient treatment plans within the bounds of evidence-based medicine. Dr. Adesomo has published in peer-reviewed journals on topics such as placenta previa, preeclampsia, and gestational diabetes. He has also co-authored textbook chapters focusing on long-term maternal health after complicated pregnancies. Biography: Ayamo G. Oben, M.D., is a trilingual (English, French and Spanish) board-certified Maternal Fetal physician at Maternal Fetal Consultants of Houston. With a passion for empowering women with high-risk pregnancies, Dr. Oben believes in providing exhaustive care that addresses not only the clinical aspects but also the mental, social, and emotional well-being of her patients. Having grown up in Cameroon, a country where women's health is underserved, she became determined to be a partner to women in the journey of their complex pregnancies. Dr. Oben received her medical degree at Duke University School of Medicine and completed her training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Health Science Center. She concluded her expertise with a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine from the University of Alabama. She is Double Board Certified in Obstetrics & Gynecology ad well as Maternal-Fetal Medicine. Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Oben enjoys traveling, spending time with her family, watching reality TV and cheering on her favorite soccer team: Chelsea.
