Biography: Dr. Orhan Sancaktar received his cardiovascular training at The Ohio State University College of Medicine, The University of Illinois at Chicago and The Medical College of Wisconsin. A board certified internist, Dr. Sancaktar was both a resident in internal medicine and pediatrics and an assistant professor in clinical medicine at The University of Illinois at Chicago. Dedicated to providing care to those in need, Dr. Sancaktar served as a volunteer physician at the Chicago Community Health clinic while living in Illinois. He also served as the Chief Fellow in Cardiovascular Medicine at The Medical College of Wisconsin. Prior to joining Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates, Dr. Sancaktar was a hospitalist at the Critical Care and Pulmonary Physicians practice in Aurora, CO.

Jonathan Sherman, MD, FACC joined Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates in 2014 and thrives off the practice's dynamic and team-focused approach. He is board-certified in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He specializes in complex coronary and structural heart intervention to include a special interest in chronic total occlusion (CTO) and valvular interventions. Prior to joining ADCA, Dr. Sherman practiced for seven years in Colorado Springs, but moved to Denver to be closer to family and grow his practice of CTO interventions through collaboration with his ADCA peers. He has an extensive academic and research background, having spent time researching basic principles of medicine and cardiology at each stage of his training. During fellowship, he received a Certificate in Bioinformatics from Oxford University in England, studying the genetics of collateral vessel formation in cardiac patients. Outside of medicine, Dr. Sherman is an avid fly fisherman. He also enjoys skiing, hiking, biking and spending time with his wife and two boys. As a graduate of Cherry Creek High School, he is thrilled to return to Denver to continue his career. Dr. Sherman has impacted his patient's lives with his knowledge and commitment to high quality care.

Care Philosophy: Samuel Rougas, MD is a Colorado native from Pueblo and is proud to join the leading cardiology group in the state, Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates. The size and scope of ADCA's services and hospital programs allows Dr. Rougas to provide a high level of cardiac care to a wide range of patients. Dr. Rougas is certified in transthoracic and transesophagealechocardiography, nuclear cardiology, pericardiocentesis and transvenous pacemaker placement.

Reynaria Pitts, MD joined Aurora Denver Cardiology Associates (ADCA) after finishing her Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. She received her medical degree from Emory University School of Medicine and completed her Internal Medicine Residency at Emory University's J. Willis Hurst Internal Medicine Residency Program. Prior to joining ADCA, Dr. Pitts was a preventive cardiology research fellow at the Piedmont Heart Institute in Atlanta, GA and at the Eastern Colorado VA Medical Center in Denver, CO. She specializes in cardiovascular disease, and has spent time refining her expertise in lipidology, cardiovascular disease prevention and rehabilitation.
