Biography: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor(LPC) and a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Louisiana. I have worked in social services for over 25 years in various capacities--as a direct care worker in a group home for developmentally-disabled adults, as a staff worker at a homeless shelter for teens, as a licensed counselor in a crisis counseling program in New Orleans in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, and as a Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP) working with children, teens, and adults who receive Medicaid. The clients I have helped have struggled with depression, anxiety, ADHD, OCD, Panic Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. I see counseling as a way to help someone express feelings and thoughts in a safe environment, possibly for the first time. My approach combines Rogerian, Cognitive-Behavioral, and Motivational Enhancement. Counseling/therapy is a challenging endeavor and an adventure. I find those who stick with it come out more mature and more whole.

Biography: My formal education has prepared me to counsel individual adults, adolescents, and children; groups; couples; parents; and families. I have completed specific course work in working with at-risk youth, LGBTQ population, individual with gender related issues, chemically dependent individuals, individuals/group in crisis situations, and clients with personality disorders. Currently, I hold a doctorate in professional counseling and a license of professional counseling. I currently work as a director of therapeutic service and student support service for a achievement school district in the Delta of Mississippi. Counseling Background I have worked with the following populations: Elderly (Caring Days, Community Counseling Services), Intellectually Disable (Community Counseling Services), At-risk youth children/adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric issues (Diamond Grove Center), addicts, and college population. As previously stated, I offer individual, group, and family services to individual with personal, behavioral, emotional, and psychiatric issues. My theoretical orientation is Reality Therapy, which is cognitive based in its approach, due to my alignment with William Glasser perspective on human nature and behavior. His beliefs align with not helping people find defenses for their negative or inappropriate behaviors, but helping them acknowledge their behavior as being inappropriate or negative and then to learn how to act in a more logical and productive manner.

Biography: Hi, my name is Harvey Norris. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Louisiana with over 30 years of experience in the mental health field. I have worked with a wide range of client concerns including depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), trauma, and suicide. I specialize in dealing with Trauma, Veterans, and Active Duty service members. My counseling approach is person centered and I am warm and compassionate. I treat everybody with dignity and respect. I believe when I meet a new client my role is to "start where they are" and help them move forward along the path They want. I try very hard to avoid labels that stigmatize all humans. Change and tackling your issues takes courage and strength. Shaping your life to become more fulfilled and happy is very difficult. On a personal level, I have been married to the same wonderful woman since 1994 and we have a relationship that reaches back to 1989. We have five beautiful but stubborn children, trying to navigate forward in these chaotic times.
