Biography: I am licensed in North Carolina and New York with 7 years of professional work experience. I work with my clients to create an open and safe environment where thoughts and feelings can be shared without fear of judgment. It takes courage to seek out a more fulfilling and happier life and to take the first steps towards a change. I am here to support & empower you in that journey.

Biography: I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker practicing in the State of New York and hold a Masters Degree in Social Work from Stony Brook University. In addition to general counseling, I have worked in substance abuse and mental health counseling for six years. As a therapist, I prioritize creating a warm and welcoming environment for clients to feel comfortable in the therapeutic process, whatever that looks like for them. I don't shy away from working outside the box and find creativity to be an asset in meeting the clients where they're at. I am dedicated in helping my clients challenge the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping them from living the life they want to live, while also accepting that which is out of their control. I utilize an eclectic array of therapeutic approaches, including but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Family Systems Therapy, and Holistic Therapy. I believe that some of the most successful work in therapy is done when we're able to pull on tools and techniques from various approaches to create a truly individualized treatment plan. I aim to create a safe space for clients to talk about hard things, so they always know they have somewhere to bring the heaviness that they might carry. I believe that there is nothing more profound than making the decision to show up and put in the work, but I also believe that none of us can do it alone. I hope to be a part of the village that it takes.

Biography: I have been called a "Soul Whisperer" by clients due to being highly intuitive, however it is more about teaching others to listen to their own intuition which knows what is in their most highest and greatest good for a full satisfying life. I love to inspire others to change the story that they tell themselves about the events that have happened in their lives, as this story was based on stress responses, emotional trauma, perceived fear, and outdated messages from the conditioning and programming received in childhood, leading to psychological, emotional and physical pain. Life is like a mirror that reflects back all the hurt, disappointment, anger, betrayal, rejection, abandonment, unmet needs, unrealistic expectations, guilt, shame, and disillusionment that a person holds onto as a victim of their circumstances. On the other side of depression and anger, anxiety and panic attacks, trauma and PTSD, borderline personality and addiction is self-understanding, self-acceptance, self-compassion, self-forgiveness, self-respect, resiliency, serenity, peace, and joy. I remember asking one of the counselors that I worked with twenty years ago, "Has there ever been anyone that you could not help as I think I might be that person because I am beyond repair, broken, damaged and there is no hope for me." This counselor laughed and said "Never. I have a partnership with the Creator and no one has ever walked away without experiencing incredible personal growth and you won't be my first." She was right! I am 100% committed and dedicated to helping others discover meaning and purpose in their lives by supporting them on their own healing journey to stop the cycle of pain, addiction, violence, abuse, discrimination, abandonment, bullying, neglect, suicide, and trauma, all of which I have personally experienced myself. I am confident that I can help anyone who is truly looking to heal. It is not only about managing symptoms, but finding the source of suffering to promote clarity, healing, honesty, growth, compassion, forgiveness, accountability, self-care, and empowerment. It is about changing the self-talk, inner dialogue, and belief systems that no longer serve them and interferes with a healthy mind, body, and spirit connection. I am very passionate about helping others understand the negative thinking, victim mentality, shame cycle, codependency and emotional issues underlying mental health struggles and/or substance abuse patterns that keep them stuck, stagnant and enslaved to repeating behaviors that lead to self-sabotage and self-destruction. I am a caring, engaging, empathetic, and compassionate professional mental health and substance abuse counselor, with a very strong theoretical foundation in evidenced-based modalities, such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Reality Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Attachment Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Psychodrama, Breath Therapy, Internal Family Systems and Inner Child Work. I also encourage clients to discover the blocks that hold them back from moving ahead in the areas of career, finances, relationships, personal growth, recreation, health, romance and spirituality. I motivate others to let go of enabling and co-dependency, set and maintain healthy boundaries, practice reflective listening and conscious communication, process grief and loss, and discover the meaning and purpose of living. I look forward to helping anyone that is ready to embark on healing the past, embracing the present, creating a new future, and living an authentic and truthful life.

Biography: "Being empathetic is seeing the world through the eyes of the other, not seeing your world reflected in their eyes". -Carl Rogers Counseling is a process whereby we work together to promote acceptance and change. As a professional in the field for 18 years I have experience in working with individuals facing an array of mental health and substance use issues across many diverse populations. I have helped individuals navigate life issues such as grief and loss, anxiety, stress, trauma, domestic violence, and sexual abuse. I have also facilitated treatment for sexual offenders and perpetrators of domestic violence. I obtained my master's degree in Counselor Education from SUNY Brockport in May 2002. I received my NBCC certification in 2003, and I obtained NY State licensure in 2006. I would describe my therapeutic approach as integrative. I meet individuals where they are and try to gain insight and understanding into their worldview. Person-centered approach is primary, focusing on empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard. Motivational interviewing and strength-based theory take center stage. Cognitive-behavioral theory is integrated as appropriate to help facilitate greater understanding and insight regarding challenges and planning for change. Genuineness is important to me. Please do not expect silence or lack of engagement. I will validate thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, but also challenge incongruencies to help facilitate self-awareness. I am comfortable in all communication platforms, including texts, video chat, phone calls, video conferencing. I have experience in working with clients across all mediums. I look forward to taking the journey with you.

Care Philosophy: Everyone struggles at some point in time in their lives. Acknowledging this to another person can be incredibly difficult yet, freeing. True strength is in recognizing our faults and working to change them. That is why I say the healthiest people are sitting in my office. The healthiest people are those who can acknowledge that they can't do it alone. Sometimes we need to trust in other people to guide us and give us perspective. It can be a challenge to open up to friends and loved ones for fear of judgement or rejection. Although there is incredible strength in showing vulnerability, it is also terrifying and unknown. Engaging with someone outside of your immediate circle can offer a different perspective free from judgment and biases. It is difficult to take that first step outside of our comfort zone because we don't know what is on the other side.
