My partner and I worked with Victor through UpLift, and unfortunately, it ended up doing more harm than good.From the beginning, there were red flags—he’d scoff, glare, or shake his head during sessions, which felt condescending and made it hard to feel safe or heard.One of the most frustrating moments was when he told us, “You cannot talk to each other about this until our next session,” which was a week away. Expecting us to sit with unresolved hurt for that long made no sense, and when we did talk, he acted annoyed.It also became clear that he was taking sides. By the final sessions, it was obvious who he was favoring—something that likely affected the dynamic all along and definitely hurt our progress.The experience left me really disappointed—not just with him, but with UpLift as a whole. I now question how thoroughly they vet their therapists and how reliable their reviews really are.

I typically don't leave reviews like this but after seeing some of the other experiences, I wanted to share my own. I currently see Victor for counseling through UpLift and he has been nothing short of amazing. He has helped me so much with working on my own trauma and always makes me feel safe in sharing my experiences. He is very knowledgeable and understanding. The thing with him is that he pushes you to do the work but in a good way. I think sometimes people just want to be validated without any accountability. I was like that at first. Victor has helped me so much with understanding my role in experiences as well. Would absolutely recommend!

His Uplift reviews are good. I only met with him two times but felt very uncomfortable. Maybe it’s just me. I’m wondering if other women have had similar experiences (I hope this validates someone). I tried looking through reviews on Uplift and it’s weird you can’t post anonymously. I don’t think they honestly reflect therapist quality.

I had couples counseling with him for several months. I’m not sure he even knows what he’s doing, because it wasn’t helpful and our relationship just got worse. The only useful things he provided were “Fair Fighting Rules” and “TEAMS” print ups from the internet, which you can Google. We’ve been working with a new therapist and it’s so much better. I wish we’d never done sessions with Victor it was such a waste of time.

Disappointed. Not helpful. Did more harm than good. Started out professional, but as sessions went on he was noticeably scoffing when I was sharing vulnerable information, shaking his head, smerking. A bit creepy towards the end. I felt really uncomfortable. I’d be interested to see if any other people had a similar experience. I cancelled my remaining appointments.
