Valerie has been a God send to me. She looks outside the box and considers physical health issues that may also be causing depression/anxiety. She is always keeping up with what is new in the medical field. She has been open and continues to stay open minded . I have been through 5 other psychiatrists and Valerie is miles ahead of any other doctor I have seen when it comes to psychiatry. I would recommend her to ANYONE. If there is any waiting time issues, it is well worth waiting. She knows what she is doing.

Valerie is a genius, and misunderstood as a result. She is rarely on time, but it is only because she takes such care and puts her full effort into her patients. She is only allotted 15 min for her regular appointments (not her call) and she does her best to stick to it, but is not willing to compromise patient care for the benefit of a time table. The way I see it, that’s a great thing in a provider. I know that no matter what else is pushing her that day, she will talk with me about how I am doing, listen to my concerns, and answer my questions. I have been with her for over 4 years, and she is the only provider who has ever been able to sort out my mixed states. She is always very careful about any medication changes and starts small, only changing one thing at a time, which I very much appreciate. If I need her or have questions, she always gets back to me. I regularly recommend her to people. She is great and has changed my life!

On my first visit to see Valarie she was running about 45 minutes behind. No apology for the delay when I went in. She proceeded to address me as "m'am" instead of using my name and was very assertive with questions and responses. She immediately tried to get me to purchase a very expensive special test to determine what medicines I would most respond to, and when I said I didn't want to do that she abruptly put the information away. She was very condescending and came across as uncaring and distant. This is the WORST experience I have ever had with a provider!I felt like I was in shock after I left from how terribly I was treated. If you are looking for a kind, caring and compassionate provider then do not choose to see Valerie.

I’ve been seeing Valerie for about 2 years. She takes all the time in the world for you and goes above and beyond. She’s very caring but is a straight shooter too. I have treatment resistant depression and she has thought outside of the box for me. Yes, I have to wait sometimes but I know if I have an emergency, she won’t rush me out, so it’s worth the wait. She truly listens to me and considers all factors of my life in my treatment. I could not imagine seeing anyone else. I highly recommend her if you want someone that treats you like a real human being, not just another number. Also, if you want someone who will email you back, get you in for an emergency and takes her time with you.

I saw Valerie for 5yrs. We got along very well at first. We got along very well and she seemed sweet and caring. However she never had any regard for time and would o often make patients wait over an hour to be seen. She also had a problem with overprescribing meds. By the time I left her 6 mnths. ago I was on 12 meds and 6 splmnts. From the beginning I had serious side effects from the meds. Causing multi-system organ damage and psychiatric effects including worsened depression and hallucinations. Her solution was to always raise dosages or prescribe more drugs to treat side effects, which caused more side effects of their own. When I left her I started taking myself off the meds. I am only on 2 now. The difference in my symptoms are night and day. I'm a whole new person, enjoying life, with hope for the future. If you are considering seeing her, don't. It's not worth the risk. She must be getting kickbacks from big pharma to be willing to cause so much suffering.

I have been battling Clinical Depression for over 40 yrs. I have not truly felt like myself in a VERY long time. Valerie has slowly walked through my symptoms 1 by 1 and developed a regimen that has me feeling "normal again. I have read some of these negative comments, and I would say this. If there is any second thoughts about seeing her, I would vouch for her 101%

Miss treated my diagnosis and failed to provide prompt response once my symptoms worsened. Feel the Mood Treatment Center is about generating money not treating or caring for the patients under there care.

Valerie has truly given me life. I have been to one doctor after another for 25 years, tried countless antidepressants, only to sink further and further into depression. This amazing woman was able to find and properly dose the correct medicines in 4 months!!! She gave me a life, and my family a mother, wife and daughter; when they had accepted that I would always be sick. My home is a happy place now, and I feel amazing.

Valerie is great to work with. When I see her, I truly feel like we're working together on my treatment and not her telling me what I need to do. She listens to my opinions on treatment options and trusts me to monitor my own mood while still pushing me to make sure I'm being 100% honest.

I was referred to the Mood Treatment Center by my health care carrier. I was a little afraid to even make the appointment due to some of the negative things I heard about the Center as well as the staff. Now, I'm so glad I went. I suffered from what I thought was depression , took medication for YEARS for depression ( wasn't the issue- it was) we spoke in depth about what I was experiencing . After changing my medication I am now slowly getting back to the old me. She has been a blessing to me.

Valerie is the most caring and sweetest provider I've seen in a very long time. She responds to emails and phone call right away. She listens to my issues and open to my ideas. She even makes her self available on the weekends. She goes over and beyond as a provider. I tell everyone I can how much I enjoy her and if they ever need anything to go see her! She absolutely loves her patients. And I'm so thankful I have her has my provider.

1. After waiting for more than 30 min for an appointment, which I arrived on time for, she acted like I had no right to be upset. 2. after telling her my symptoms, she began to argue with me about my diagnosis. There are a lot of similarities between ADHD & Bipolar disorder, & she did not seem to understand how to differentiate the two. She spent the entire appointment trying to find proof of what she felt was right. I left the appointment feeling attacked and very disrespected.
