I went to ER when my fever escalated from 100-103 within 15 mins. Dr. Longstreet assessed me after waiting 2 hours in his room. He did a nares swab to test viruses/other illnesses. He insisted I get an IV, like any doctor wld. I refused knowing that if I accepted it I wld receive a hefty bill. He continued to push the IV on me explaining how careless it wld be for me to refuse the IV. I tried to reassure him that I understand that IV's hydrate & restore electrolytes quicker than oral intake but I've been drinking fluids & will take water. He kept drilling the IV on me, treated me like I was an idiot, & presented the IV as if I didnt have a choice. I kindly kept declining the IV & asked for water. The nurse had to step in, cool him down, & explain the IV doesn't seem necessary at this time. He left. Never ordered me water KNOWING my condition (since the IV is so important) Told me test came back negative, he doesn't know what's wrong. Sent me on my way. Horrible pt. rapport! $2000 later
