Gave up really easily.
I met with Tiara Perkins for two appointments, totaling 90 minutes. At the end of our second visit, she stated that she didn’t know how to help me if I wasn’t willing to take anti-anxiety medication. This was my first experience with a mental health professional. I made it clear prior to my appointment that I was not looking for medication or medication management. I was interested in counseling and talk therapy to begin the process of working through trauma. It was incredibly disappointing for a counselor who barely knew me and who took barely any time to get to know me and establish a relationship with me to just give up so easily. Apparently her care provided is conditional pending medication use.
