Dr. Thomas Carey, PHD

I was a patient of Dr. Carey 5 years ago. During our appointments, he would lie to me constantly about his family and credentials. Yes, I Googled him. No keynote was ever given. He would also constantly set aside the problems I would try to bring up, mostly talk about himself, and tell my mom to not worry about me. This includes the fact that I was seriously harming myself and constantly dissociating, and had amnesia so serious I’d regularly have breakdowns.He, additionally, prematurely and incorrectly diagnosed me with depression and anxiety, which led to me being improperly medicated for what actually was Bipolar Disorder, CPTSD, and DID, and landed me in a year and a half long psychotic episode. He does not do IFS. He does not do CBT. He does, however, send traumatized people into “workshops” where you have to watch people step on one another and harm one another emotionally and physically in other ways.Do not see this therapist. Do not send your children to him.

Dr. Carey worked with my daughter years ago both individually and in group. He was head and shoulders above any other provider we dealt with. More than 15 years later, I still feel extraordinarily grateful.
