Not able to do his job. After only 3 sessions, decided our depressed teen was too distant during therapy and requested that I, as the parent, talk with him to find out what he wanted from therapy. I thought that this would be the job of the therapist. Unfortunately, totally not a good fit. Not understanding why a therapist would not understand that a teen with major depression would feel like nothing was going to work.

Said on first phone call that he didn't want to "go to the trouble of blocking out an hour" unless I was sure our child would "talk". Red flag. The two visits we had were nonsense. After a lengthy explanation, he still acted like he had no idea why we were there. I told him the issue for the third time, and he said, "OHHHHHH!" as though he'd never heard it before. He told us there was no problem on second visit, and sent my son home to his anxiety attacks with no help.
