Dr. Terri Lee Fechnay, PHD

barely listened to me and talked about other patients, suggested that my sensory overload issues were a result of childhood trauma and insisted that my gender identity was because of said trauma. when attempting to get evaluated for autism, she refused to help me because "i didn't seem autistic since i didnt talk about my obsessions, because a real autistic person would ramble about an interest such as giraffes" (why would i talk about my hyperfixations when i am attempting to get help?) — to add on, very disrespectful of transgender people overall. she constantly refered to me as a "beautiful girl" and said it was a shame i was trying to transition (i am transmasculine) and she continued to refer to me by my given name when i had expressed great discomfort towards the usage and even told her my prefered name. not a great experience at all and as my first therapist, these interactions scared me away from attempting therapy again for 3years

Terri is an excellent therapist. She is compassionate and talented.. I would recommend her to anyone seeking individual counseling.

just a great therapist: friendly, thoughtful, caring, communicative, helpful, interactive, enlightening. even on days when parts of me don't want to go and deal with the drudgery of my problems, I still go because I know she is there to listen and help me through it. she is kind and knowledgable. feel blessed to have such a skilled therapist.

Dr. Fechnay is a very compassionate, effective therapist who has helped my family members (children through adults), and we all recommend her highly for individual or family therapy. She truly cares about people and her office is inviting and conveniently located..
