You never how fast and smart you are until you're slowed down by a TBI. On my 1st visit Teri assessed me with various cognitive tasks but at the end she turned on a dyregulative music recording where at the 4 min mark I was in tears, apologizing as I didn't know why I was crying. This is a brain injury at play and she acknowledged my problem and understood me when I told her I couldn't watch movies or tv because the soundtracks were too loud over the talking. She also understood my attention deficit issues, aphasia, vocal tic and executive functioning problems that came from my MTBI. She helped me get through some of the hardest years of my life by truly understanding what I was going through and guiding me with cognitive exercises for my audible, speech and executive dysfunctions. Gentle and kind. Healing and understanding. She helped save my life.
