Dr. Tara Shelby, ND

Tara has an intensity that doesn’t click with me, but that doesn’t mean she’s a bad provider. Im grateful to her for gathering a group of amazing providers in one space. In the appointment I had with her she kind of made my disability feel like something I was choosing to have, which didn’t sit well with me. But otherwise I know she’s a smart woman who truly understands the power of healing through methodologies that we often overlooked. The one thing I wish she and her clinic would improve on is all the pushiness around their classes and group sessions. I don’t want to feel like I’m on a sales call every time I make an appointment with my doctor. And the one class I did go to was not as helpful as I was led to believe when she was pushing me to join it. People should be able to opt into whether or not they want to hear about these offerings (or maybe just hear about them through the newsletter instead). All said, I think Dr. Shelby is a fine doctor who has helped many people.

I have been a patient of Dr. Shelby’s for over 8 years. What I appreciate most is her tireless commitment to my health and well-being, her focus on treating the “whole” patient, and for truly listening to me and encouraging me to be an active part in my healing journey. Dr. Shelby is a class act, as is the rest of her staff!

I've seen Dr. Shelby for 5 years and have healed in ways I never thought possible. She has worked with me as a partner in healing, especially in dealing with my gut issues. My gastrointestinal system was in deep distress when I began working with her. My previous doctor had me taking acid reducers and OTC anti-diarrheal meds for years. I began seeing her years ago specifically for my gastrointestinal issues, but I trust her so much I made her my primary care doctor. Dr. Shelby and her team combine the best of naturopathy and holistic medicine with Western medicine to treat my whole person.

My daughter and I have been seeing Dr Shelby for over 14 years. I have always felt she cares for the whole person not just a symptom , like I imagine an old fashioned Dr. would do . When my daughter was in the hospital, she came everyday to check on her and talk to the hospital staff assigned to my daughter. She listens and always has great options to choose from. The office staff is caring and very easy to talk to . I love the energy of the office , I always leave hopeful that things will be okay

Dr. Shelby and her clinic are all about making profit, she does try to help people but her primary focus is not on their wellbeing but rather on making a business empire, and hiring young and very inexperienced specialist to work along-side her at Village Medicine. She uses every attempt to refer her patients to those new doctors/specialist at her clinic. She is charismatic and leads you to believe that she has the knowledge and resources to solve your problems when in actuality she doesn't posess the expertise she claims. When she gets stumped she looses interest and tries to pass you to somebody else.

Dr. Shelby and her staff are amazing. Dr. Shelby has helped me with gastrointestinal, hormonal, pregnancy, and postpartum issues. She uses a great blend of science and intuition. I always finish our appointments feeling empowered.

Horrible service, office staff is rude and short .

i have been dealing with a nausea problem for over 15yrs. i Went to Dr Shelby and she figured out the problem immediately. I wish i had gone to her sooner!!
