Tammy Balamut

Tammy is very open in her communication style when discussing her observations with you, and her bedside manner is friendly and compassionate. I have confidence that she will communicate with my therapists as needed to gather any needed evidence to understand the full scope of my struggles. The Upstate Psychiatry Family Practice is well-organized and the front desk staff are also friendly and well-organized, able to offer consistent attention to detail in scheduling, filling prescriptions, ongoing feedback with drs, etc. If you are anticipating walking into the hospital campus downtown, this outpatient facility is at a separate location; I also have blood tests done in another suite at this location. The practice is not at the downtown hospital campus. I am a current patient of Tammy's and would recommend her care to others struggling with their mental health, especially if they are struggling with medication management, and if they are in need of behavioral assessment.

I learned so much and found other ways to reduce me anxiety “pills and skills” is what she called it and there was so much information I had to start writing them down.

This person is unprofessional, has no empathy and is untrustworthy. When called out she accused me of lying and started gaslighting. The office itself is just seedy. The website for Daskalakis Psychological Services looks very nice. You will be shocked once you get there- it is run down and you'll need to be buzzed in due to its location. Tammy fits right in. I wish I could give her a negative star rating.

I have been seeing Tammy for at least 3 yrs. I've never had a bad experience only positive experiences. I don't know where I'd be right now if I hadn't been recommended to see her. I am very thankful for all her help and guidance.

Tammy is a very nice lady. She is the best Dr I have ever had. She listens to you and doesn't try to rush you out of her office. Always happy and smiling which helps a lot because if your feeling down and go to an appointment with her it's most likely a definite that you will smile at least a couple times during your visit. I have been going to Tammy for a little over two years. She is great, she listens and makes recommendations that are spot on. She has a friendly disposition and is really down to earth and easy to talk to. I love that she sends text message appointment reminders to keep you on track. Highly recommend her.

Unfortunately I had to move and leave her practice but I had the opposite experience as the negative ones below. Tammy was great and very understanding. She was always empathetic, very supportive and I am grateful I had the chance to have her as a provider.

Tammy Balumut was very unprofessional and a poor communicator. I was so disappointed by her coldness, lack of empathy, and blatant disregard for her client. I will not be seeing Tammy again, but I hope she can improve for future clients.

Not only was I failed to me notified about appointment cancellation before quarantine, but she didnt check up on clients during this time. When she started appointments again, I was not made aware. When i texted her expressing my concern and conflicting on her lack of communication and empathy, she replied asking me what my name was. I do not recommend.

She was very kind and helped figure out the right medicine for me. There was some confusion and miscommunication at first, but it was rectified.
