Susann Ravessoud, NP

NP Ravessoud works under the specialist I see for chronic pain mgmt, a Dr. w whom I've developed a rapport and treatment plan. I waited 45 minutes past my appt time to be seen and the entire appt felt very rushed. Much of the appt was spent going over the myriad of treatments, meds, surgeries that I've had over the last 20 years, as well as being ridiculed about my being overweight. I had to repeat myself several times due to her only passively listening and made to feel as if I were wasting HER time. She told me ins wouldn't cover a procedure my Dr. and I had discussed, nor would she prescribe anything to manage my pain. She didn't offer alternatives or referrals. When asked what I should do, she replied, in essence, I was to live in pain wout intervention. I left w so many unanswered questions. I saw my Dr. the following week. He was displeased by her approach and apologized for her utter lack of care. I refuse to see NP Ravessoud again. She needs to reevaluate her career choices.

Ms Ravessoud actually listens to her patients and acts accordingly as much as possible medically. She's an advocate for patients and doesn't rush you through. When writing prescriptions, she tells you if there are any problems concerning availability at your pharmacy, contact her and she'll try a different pharmacy which is important if you are coming in from a different city and don't live in LC. She takes these kinds of issues into account for her patients. I feel very comfortable discussing my situation with her. When a prescription doesn't work for me, we try another until we get one that does, which is important for my pain management. And she doesn't order unnecessary tests or procedures! It's important to be treated as an adult who knows what is going on with my body and to have a health care provider who addresses that. I very much appreciate and respect Ms Ravessoud's care and treatment.
