We did couples therapy and then my boyfriend did therapy independently. She was not consistent between what was said in our shared sessions versus his solo sessions. She even outright told him things he should do regarding life decisions. My therapist said the point of therapy was to guide the patient into talking out their issues and helping them to independently come to their own conclusions versus just telling them what to do. I was impressed with her until I realized the inconsistencies.
