Incredibly disappointed - I thought I had found a good fit, but I’m done. I had been waiting since before Christmas to get onto Dr Barngrover’s schedule and after our first tele-health visit she insisted that I come in to the office. I have an extremely high risk child but I did it with some trepidation. That meeting went ok. The third meeting I sat for almost forty minutes watching her, maskless, walking out a maskless patient, looking directly at me, and then bringing another patient back. Finally a different male therapist poked his head out (also maskless) and asked who I was here to see. I told him and after some clearly made-up excuses about COVID being the reason why I had been sitting waiting for almost an hour he wrote my name down and said he’d slip it under her door. I waited another ten or so minutes and walked out. I sent her an email canceling my remaining appts and reported her office to the Jackson County Health Department for not even pretending to abide by COVID laws.

Susan is top notch! We think she hides how much clinical knowledge she has as she goes out of her way to be very down to Earth and easy to talk to. Yet? When she pulls it all together with you, you are reminded of her ability to help you move forward with a new set of skills and hope. I don't know where I would be without her-being a trauma survivor the odds weren't in my favor. Her expertise and support provided through the years cleared a path of recovery and personal growth. She's gold!

Susan takes her time listening to you, as well as helping you discover what may be behind what you are saying. Her sessions always have left me with things to reflect upon and increased self-understanding. I completely trust Susan's professionalism and integrity. I would, and have, highly recommended Dr. Barngrover without reservation. She is very busy - don't be discouraged by the wait time. Do leave her a message if you are in urgent need -she may be able to work you in.

She may not be for everyone, but she is a straight shooter with actual tangible suggestions for coping mechanisms. My kids both need an unbiased third party to talk things through with and they value her for being less lets talk about our feeelings and more Here is how we can work to solve this. Love her!
