Stephen Shalev

While I was under the care of a different therapist at a Crisis Residential, I met Stephen as he facilitated group therapy. When he asked patients if they had concerns, I brought up the fact I would wake up with bug bites. Stephen yelled at me, 'we don't have any bugs here!' Feeling dismissed, I chose not to speak up in subsequent group meetings, and when another therapist asked why, I explained I was going to be dismissed, so I felt it was pointless. Stephen raised his voice, saying 'you need to get your facts straight.' After the group meeting, as I went to speak with a Nurse, he tapped my shoulder, demanding to speak with me privately. He said 'don't ever do that again, I will slam it down!' When I explained I would report him for his outburst and threat, he smiled and said 'I'm very happy you would do that!' Corporate investigated my complaint, resulting in Stephen apologizing to me and undergoing sensitivity training. He chose to omit this interaction from my medical records.
