Dr. Stephen Lobaugh, OD

The ophthalmologist said the cataract developing in my left eye isn’t bad enough for surgery and that a new Rx for contacts would be helpful. Dr. Lobaugh put me a pair of contacts that supposedly would help with distance vision, but made my near vision so bad I couldn’t see the dashboard of my car. As well, he prescribed an expensive daily lens that would break my budget. I asked for a single vision Rx for glasses to see distance and got a progressive prescription that makes me dizzy. I don’t do well in bifocals and I hate these glasses. I was also told the clinic took my insurance and I wound up paying a $90 out of pocket for the exam. Just because they are located in the snotty part of Bethesda doesn’t mean they treat you respectfully—only the techs did. Otherwise I was listened to better at Americas best. I’m doing much better in my old contacts than with the new ones.

Dr. Lobaugh has been our family Doctor for years. He is professional, caring, patient and goes above and beyond. I would absolutely recommend Dr. Lobaugh to my friends.

Dr. Lobaugh has conducted my eye exams for the last 3 years - for glasses, contacts, and overall revision. He is very attentive, exhaustive, and nice.
