Terrible advice. Told my kid to watch a moive to help show him that "weird kids can have normal lives too" Also told a child that "he acted like a post war veteran and didnt know how to further help him because he doesnt talk" and didnt want to take our money anymore.

I was disappointed to see a 1-star rating from 1 other reviewer so I wanted to make sure and weigh in. Our experience was completely opposite in that we owe our daughter's life to Stephen. If he wasn't so quick to recognize her issues with depression and self-harm, she could have gone beyond help. His recommendations have all proved to be right on track and he has a good rapport with young people. In my opinion, he is very intelligent, insightful, non-judgemental and easy to speak to.

Terrible counselor in our experience. After 3 sessions, two of which he only spent with her (the third we split, so that’s ~30 minutes with me), he advised divorce. Luckily I was able to convince her to get a second opinion. Just 2 visits with a different counselor and we’d ended our separation. A year later now and we’re stronger than ever.
If we’d listened to Stephen, we’d have missed out on a lifetime of happy marriage.
