NP Kertes assumes that women of color with gynecological illnesses are suffering from sexually transmitted diseases. She was so “sure” of herself that she made the diagnosis before running the appropriate tests (which came back negative). She did this to my wife. We had been monogamous and committed for over 15 years at the time, and even had our young daughter in the room with us during this ordeal. She then refused an ultrasound to my wife to rule out any other causes for her illness. This is what happens when you rely on nurse practitioners instead of REAL doctors to provide medical care. Racism in medicine is a reality.
