Particular to our case, Dr Hausman seemed unfamiliar in dealing with significant, ongoing personality disorders and their accompanying destructive manipulation. Dr Hausman was either easily fooled or chose to turn a blind eye because the facts did not fit with her hopes of a 'happy outcome'.If a professional psychologist during an evaluation does not base choices and recommendatons on current and past evidenced and documented and witnessed, red-flag behavior, I can only surmise Dr. Hausman's final recomendation was based upon her own personal hopes or goal --an outcome that was not in my child's best interest.Because Dr. Hausman's position as an evaluator in the court system holds great sway, predictably, my child is still paying a high price for the damaging effects of a misplaced recommendation not based on the whole picture. Please do what's best for your child and look elsewhere for a family evaluator that looks at all the facts.

A very negative experience with Sheryl Hausman PhD. It's odd that the thumbnail photo shows her smiling, that's something that in a dozen visits I don't think I ever experienced. Cold, VERY analytical, and with zero warmth.  I spent most of the time with her staring at the top of her head, she typed everything I said into a laptop. Talk about total detachment.  Zero creativity and after many thousands of dollars no results. Just threw up her hands and said oh well. We all have jobs that at the end of the day we do for money. But running as an undercurrent throughout my entire interaction with Sheryl was this unmistakable transactional nature to our dealings. I wouldn't recommend Sheryl for children. It's possible an adult might be able to wring something out of a session with her, but at $250 for 45 minutes why bother? There are a lot of therapists in Marin folks, my suggestion would be to steer clear of this one. Maybe try to find one who doesn't dislike people? Just a thought.

Dr Hausman was recommended to me by 2 psychologists on 2 separate occasions. I wish she could be our regular therapist but her specialty is co-parenting. First, she wouldn't shut us down if we brought up the past or topics which might seem irrelevant. In fact i was the one who kept saying "ok that's irrelevant" she would say "no it's ok. It helps me better understand". This was opposite of other experiences i've had. She really listened and offered solutions. Definitely recommend & liked her.
