Dr. Shelly Hayes, OD

I went to the office 17 Aug 22 for my annual checkup. There is a new check in process on a machine that I do not like. All the technicians are still wearing masks and masks are still required to enter the office, which was fine, however, the technician that did my preliminary exam DID NOT wear gloves and touched my skin with her BARE HANDS to hold my eyes open to put in numbing drops and then drops to dilate my eyes. She was very rough and her hand slipped at one point so she pulled open my right eye again. All of that was not necessary and I have never been grabbed like that before. I should have said something at the time, but I was just so shocked that she touched me without gloves. By the time I got home my right eye was in pain and there was a bump on my lower lid. The pain got worse and by the next day my lower eye lid was red, the bump was larger, and under my eye was swollen. I went back to the office 19 Aug 22. Had an infection. More to say-out of characters.

Couldn’t give me a prescription that I needed then blamed the prescription lenses on the optician. Talked over me and led me out of the room when she heard how much I was dissatisfied with the prescription. I will NEVER go back to that office.

Dr. Hayes is compassionate, and is very nice to her patients.

My visit with Dr. Hayes's went very well. I have no complaint, she takes time to explain what the exam show's. And is patient with you,and takes time to answer all your questions. The staff is so caring and polite! I would recommend Dr. Hayes's to anyone looking for a excellent eye doctor.

Dr Hayes was wonderful very friendly and down to earth, explained exactly what she was doing during the examination.

She was extremely well informed and I felt that I finally found someone who could solve my eye infection. Very professional as well as personable.

Even though sometimes I’m probably a not-so-fun patient as I have issues in having contacts fitted, Dr. Hayes is always so patient, thorough and efficient. She even made a comment regarding “enjoying the challenge.” What an attitude to have these days when frequently Doctors’ offices feel like a patient mill of “get you in and out just as fast as possible” and often leave you to deal with the insurance debacle afterwards. This is why I keep coming back! Call me a happy frequent flyer.

I have seen Dr. Hayes a few times at Sieht practice. She explains things carefully and is willing to answer any questions. Dr Hayes described my upcoming cataract surgery and what to expect from the consultation that will be set up before the procedure. I have no problem asking for her at this busy practice.

I had an excellent visit with Dr. Hayes. She is very informative and she discusses every process that she is doing to the patient with understanding. I would highly recommend her to everyone.

I wanted to see the doctor who did my cataract surgery because I am again seeing “halos “. I wasn’t allowed to do that without seeing Dr Hayes first. She only had one technician, so she was running 30 minutes late. The technician did testing and put in drops. Dr Hayes came in, looked briefly, and said I needed to see the other doctor. I already knew that! I couldn’t get an appointment for two months. I had also asked about dry eyes; I signed a form to guarantee payment. However, she did nothing about it’s done just sent me on my way.

Dr. Hayes takes her time and listens. She is very thorough!
