-seems compassionate and experienced -probably very good at treating pure unipolar depression or pure bipolar 1? -however if you are one of the 1 in 3 people whose depression has some bit of bipolarity (not depression only & not bipolar 1- in other words on the bipolarity spectrum) you may be better off with a different provider?   'Depression with a little bit of bipolarity' is a very different condition and requires a very different treatment approach than either / both unipolar depression or bipolar 1    (just one possible clue - have antidepressants ever not worked or made you worse?)  This type of depression (depression with some bipolarity) usually takes about ten years to diagnose since so few providers really understand it. A good book about this is Bipolar Not So Much by Chris Aiken and James Phelps MD: good websites: mood treatment center com / bipolar not so much / psych education org/     The public's misunderstanding / stigma about bipolarity causes so much harm/waste.
