When I believed I could trust her, and disclosed that I was seeking to leave an abusive living situation about five weeks into the course of cranial-sacral therapy, she wrinkled her nose like I'd shoved dog poop under it and asked: "Isn't there some agency you can call for that?" I thought that someone who had sold me hundreds of dollars worth of vitamins, herbs, and tinctures for anxiety and talks about treating the whole person might be interested in knowing that aspect of my story. On the contrary, she became angry and defensive. I should have suspected this, as a week earlier she decided that it was ridiculous for her to continue to take notes by hand like I'd requested after making fun of me for having difficultly speaking fluently if she typed while I was attempting to speak (I have a stutter). Seems to believe that consent given for therapeutic touching extends to any touching she would like to make throughout the appointment, including forced hugs.
