Shane Strnad, FPMHNP

Don’t listen to the other reviewers that gave 1 star. I’ve been working with Shane for years, I can tell he truly cares about his patients because when I’m not doing well, he’s reached out to me to check on me. No other doctor or nurse practitioner has ever done that. Anytime I want to lower medicine to function better, he always listens and acts on it. Smartly plans out times to ween me off of medicine and always wants to see me succeed. I can see his genuine happiness when I tell him my accomplishments. Most doctors/nurse practitioners want to shove pills down, until you’re a zombie, he doesn’t. If you work with him and try your hardest to work on your mental health (which you should be doing) and also, stay sober if there’s addiction issues, he’s your man!!

Pay attention to the pattern of feesback in these reviews!! Shane is extremely rude to patients. He tries to control patients with ultimatums when they are in their most vulnerable and fragile state. I left his office feeling worst than when I went in each of the 3 times I visited. Worst experience ever.

Shane is the definition of narcissistic. His arrogance is overwhelming. Shane does not seem willing to learn and truly listen -- not characteristics of a smart person. Do yourself a favor and see a real doctor. Not a nurse on a power trip.

My experience with Shane over the past year has been extremely positive. I'd been struggling for years to find the right mood stabilizer, and he solved the problem within a month. I was also diagnosed with sleep apnea thanks to him. Shane is serious and highly intelligent; he's always able to provide detailed scientific answers to my questions. I don't feel rushed through appts, his recommendations make sense to me, and he always provides different options. If you want someone smart, pick Shane.

He has given ultimatums and is egotistical as someone else says. Tries to get you in and out to make a quick buck. Feel as though we have to appease him if we want to be cared for properly.

Takes no care in understanding his patients. He consistently talks over and at you, instead of being patient with you. Seems to have a complete disregard for the comfort of his patients. Spends very minimal time with you. Is completely unwilling to work with you. When asking important questions, or voicing concerns or thoughts, reinforces his thought process only, many times leaving you with no real answer or satisfaction. I would highly recommend avoiding him if you need someone who cares.
