Dr. Scott Richmond, DC

A family member entered into a 9-month contract for health coaching services with Dr. Scott Richmond at a cost of $1,100 per month. For that fee, she got a monthly phone call & a few emails. What my relative did not know, until after signing the contract, was the “holistic solutions” Scott recommended to her included potentially painful & dangerous procedures that could have long-term harmful effects & leave patients in chronic pain. He even counseled her to be evaluated in Tijuana for a procedure that is expressly condemned by the American Association of Endodontists. As a chiropractor, he works under the American Chiropractic Association’s code of ethics, which states, “DCs need to make sure that patients understand their treatment options so that they can make their own decision about proposed treatments.” Scott failed to disclose material information about such risks, telling my relative it was up to her to conduct her own due diligence on his recommendations.
