Piedra is thorough, clear and pleasant. She orchestrates the care that my wife and I receive from what seems like dozens of specialists. Without her as ouy primary medical source, we'd be lost.

Poor Communicator who Orders Unnecessary Lab Tests
This CNP is ineffective at communicating with patients. She orders unnecessary lab work for patients without disclosing everything the lab is testing for. It seems to be her habit/practice to test (or order lab work) for unnecessary things that the patients insurance is likely not going to cover. She does not give patients the option to choose what lab testing they want (and do not want) before getting lab tests. CNP Piedra just sends patients along with paperwork and says everything should be covered by your health insurance provider and then when it is not, it is very difficult to get ahold of the correct staff people in her office to try to amend/eliminate the charge for unnecessary lab testing. This provider does not seem to be in a habit of looking at individual cases closely enough, but treats everyone as if they want unnecessary lab testing. I would recommend you choose a different provider as this provider is a poor communicator and treats patients in a rather robotic way.

This CNP is ineffective at her job. She orders unnecessary lab work for patients without disclosing everything the lab is testing for. It seems to be her habit/practice to test (or order lab work) for unnecessary things that the patient’s insurance is likely not going to cover. She doesn’t give patients the option to choose what lab testing they want (and don’t want) before getting lab tests. CNP Piedra just sends patients along with paperwork and says “everything should be covered by your health insurance provider” and the when it’s not, it’s very difficult to get ahold of the correct staff people in her office to try to amend/eliminate the charge for unnecessary lab testing. This provider does not seem to be in a habit of looking at individual cases closely enough, but treats everyone as if they want unnecessary lab testing. She also calls in unnecessary prescriptions to treat very minor allergies and slight vitamin deficiencies, which can be easily resolved in natural, holistic, and homeopathic ways. She has a habit of wasting patient’s time (and money when a patient’s insurance doesn’t cover everything she’s ordering for lab testing) with unnecessary lab work testing for very minor things and leaves the patient in the dark about everything the lab work order is testing for. I would recommend you choose a different provider as this provider is a very poor communicator and treats patients in a rather robotic (anti-humanistic) way.

Not to be trusted with a correct recommendations or referrals (sent me to a wrong specialist). After she claimed I was “completely fine” I went to another doctor to consult, only to learn that I should make mandatory check ups every few months to closely monitor the situation (because of family history of that disease). And that’s a completely different thing.

Stay away from this nurse. Failed to provide my mom with the medical attention needed. After 6 months and many visits to the emergency room my mom was diagnosed with cancer. If she would of listened my mom could of started treatment earlier and avoided pain and suffering. Sandra should go back to training or find another profession.
